Anders Hannevold is a composer and performer with a great care for musical details, but writes music with deep conceptual roots. His writing rarely begins with a locked musical idea, but looks more to how the music can be tailored towards a performer’s unique strengths and abilities. This often leads him to unconventional scenes, such as writing for ice skaters, creating works for paper, or indulging with rare instruments. His music draws from themes such as semantic philosophy, Mickey Mousing, and various forms of traditional Japanese art. He performs in the ensembles Ōtoro, the Reeds, and Velg Belg.
